IAB Spiders and Bots List Filter for Revive Adserver

IAB Spiders and Bots List Filter matches visitor user agents against the IAB Tech Lab Spiders and Bots list and excludes matches from impression and click counts in Revive Adserver. Publishers and advertisers get cleaner counts and a report of what was excluded.
What it does
- Imports the IAB Tech Lab Spiders and Bots list and matches user agents against it, so known bot traffic is identified by a shared industry list.
- Matches are excluded from impression and click counts, so reported delivery is not inflated by that traffic.
- A report of excluded traffic shows what was removed, so you can explain count differences to advertisers.
- Scheduled list refresh keeps the filter current without manual re-imports.
How it fits your ad stack
The filter sits in the counting path of Revive Adserver and works on the user agent. The list is not included: you obtain it yourself under IAB Tech Lab terms and import it. The IAB Tech Lab Spiders and Bots list was updated in April 2024, and the MRC IVT Detection and Filtration Guidelines distinguish General Invalid Traffic (GIVT) from Sophisticated Invalid Traffic (SIVT). User agent matching is the only detection method described for this plugin.
