This plugin inserts sponsored image, text or video units into streaming content feeds, with VAST video including wrapper tags. It suits publishers whose pages use continuously scrolling streams and want sponsored content to sit beside organic items.
What it does
- Runs image, text and video creatives in the same stream, so one placement can carry whichever format an advertiser supplies.
- Accepts third-party video through VAST wrapper tags as well as direct video, which lets outside video demand fill the feed.
- Lists VAST 2.0, VAST 3.0 and VAST wrapper 2.0 and 3.0 for video, which tells video teams which tag versions to test.
- Targets continuous-scroll layouts, as distinct from the in-feed and recommended widget formats, so it fits pages where content keeps loading as the reader moves.
How it fits your ad stack
Sponsored units are inserted into the feed itself, so they show up beside organic content. VAST is the IAB Tech Lab standard that tells a video player which ad to play and how, and the current family is VAST 4.x, so check that newer features such as SIMID interactivity are not needed.
